adding shapefile fetature type problem

Description

I have setup Geoserver 1.2.2. under Windows.
The demo works fine.

I added a shapefile datastore through the web interface.
Then I add a new feature type to it. I created a folder
in the featuretypes folder and added the shapefiles to it.
It seems to work when I saved it but checking it I see
the folder name has changed: the name of the shapefile
is added to it and the shapefiles it contained are
gone. It does have an info.xml file.
Does this happen when you change one of the properties
of the featuretype and it is a wrong one?

Help is much appreciated.

<p>A)</p>

<p>If I name my folder, my shapefiles and my dataStore

'communes_shapefile_communes', it does the same, except that the new

folder is named communes_shapefiles_communes_shapefile_communes (<img class="emoticon" src="https://jira.codehaus.org/images/icons/emoticons/wink.gif" height="16" width="16" align="absmiddle" alt="" border="0"/>.</p>

<p>If I name my folder 'communes_shapefile_communes', my shapefiles

'communes' and my dataStore 'communes', the new empty folder is named

'communes_communes'.</p>

<p>BUT If I define the dataStore, click on apply and save, my new empty foler

appears.</p>

<p>AND I copy my folder again with the rigth files inside, it works !</p>

<p>The bug seemes to come from the dataStore definition...</p>

<p>B)</p>

<p>If I name my folder and my files 'communes'</p>

<p>If I name my dataStore 'communes_shapefile' that point to communes, when I

apply and save, I get a new empty foler named

'communes_shapefile_communes'.</p>

<p>If I copy my old folder 'communes' back and If I define my featureType

'communes', I get the new emplty foler 'communes_shapefile_communes'.</p>

<p>BUT if I copy my old folder 'communes' back (again). It works !... 'til I

click on 'save' and 'appy'.</p>

<p>I hope it may help you.</p>

<p>Should be fixed in 1.2.4 - was due to the deletion code, it ended up being a bit overzealous. Now your directory should stay. THe info.xml may be generated in a different folder, but your data should still be there. ANd I documented this all in the new user docs (datastores page)</p>
