This is more an issue of jre confguration. I am running fedora core 4 and I had to do the following to get the Arial font working.

1. Find an arial font, it doesn't seem to be installed by default, I took the true type arial font that comes with Windows:

2. Copy the font into the lib directory of your jre.

There are other ways to install the font. For instance if already have the arial font installed on your system you can create teh appropriate font mapping in the font.properties file of your jre. However I found the above method a little easier.

These issue has been in resolved state for at least one month (quite a bit, a lot more than one month). Batch transitioning them to closed state
