Would it be possible to add functionality to call /reload only on a specific store or workspace, rather than the whole Geoserver catalog?
We have an external tool that dynamically creates new stores, and could potentially update some coverage configurations. It calls /reload each time a change is done, which forces the geoserver to reload its entire catalog (we may end up with a few thousand layers), when really only a few stores need to be reloaded.

Closing feature/improvement requests that have seen no changes in one year.
This does not mean the request was not valid, we just recognize it failed to gather developer resources for a long time.
